Assistant General Manager

Job Purpose:

The Assistant General Manager is the face of our organization, both online and in-house, helping to build our brand through exceptional guest experiences and creative social media and marketing strategies. Successful candidates are collaborative extroverts with excellent communication skills, who are highly organized, creative, and detail oriented. The Assistant General Manager thrives on new challenges, creative problem solving and positive interactions with guests and team members and is excited to play a key role in launching a new business.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a combination of:

    • Hospitality or Related Industry Management 

    • Guest Service 

    • Marketing

    • Event Management

  • **Must be able to work nights and weekends

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): 

Guest Experience:

  • Oversee day to day operations during Manager on Duty shifts 

  • Ensure an excellent guest experience by welcoming guests, responding to guest needs, managing bookings and answering inquiries on the phone or online. 

  • Listen to each guest to understand the goals of their visit and find ways to surprise and delight them

  • Utilize internal software to manage tasks and communicate with the team and guests

Marketing and Business Development:

  • Oversee the allocation of our marketing budget 

  • Build relationships and collaborative partnerships with other area businesses and cultural organizations

  • Assist in the creation and implementation of a calendar of events and activities 

  • Be our point person for facility rentals, group bookings, and large on-site events

Digital Content Creation:

  • Create content and help to manage engagement across all platforms. These include, but are not limited to Facebook, Instagram, our website, and our email marketing platform. 

  • Respond in real time to online guest interactions when necessary. 

  • Interface with our Digital Marketing agency to drive sales and brand awareness.

  • Track our profile on external sites to help develop and advance social image. 

  • Manage listings on community pages and online calendars.


Entrepreneurial Leadership Team:

  • Participate as a member of the leadership team to brainstorm, plan and implement innovative ways to grow and improve the business

  • Promote and embody the Blue Vista culture of operational excellence, genuine personal interactions and a dedication to creating memorable experiences to each and every guest
